The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, launched on 16th September 2024 is a groundbreaking digital platform aimed at strengthening India’s startup ecosystem, i.e. Bharat Start-up Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR).

The platform aims to centralize, streamline, and foster collaboration among key stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including startups, investors, mentors, service providers, and government entities. This initiative supports the Government of India’s vision to position the country as a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship, further reinforcing its dedication to advancing the startup movement. If a user already has Startup India log-in credentials he can directly log onto BHASKAR!

Objectives

India, home to over 146,000 DPIIT-recognized startups, has emerged as one of the world’s most vibrant startup hubs. BHASKAR aims to harness this potential by offering a comprehensive, one-stop digital platform addressing challenges faced by entrepreneurs and investors alike. The primary goal of BHASKAR is to build the world’s largest digital registry for stakeholders within the startup ecosystem. This platform enables seamless access to a wide range of resources, tools, and knowledge, facilitating the entrepreneurial journey from conception to execution.

  • Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) Scheme & Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) provide financial assistance to start-ups through Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) and incubators respectively.
